Question #1:

If I'm Making Half a Recipe, Do I Bake for Half the Time?

I just made half a recipe of french toast casserole. The bake time for the full recipe is 45-50 minutes, should I bake it for that long or half of that (being 25 minutes)?

Thanks!
**Also, I didnt change the size of the pan. The full recipe calls for an 8x8 pan and that's what I used.

Question #3:

Do you have recipes that use cream of various types of soup?

I am reorganizing the cupboard and realized I have a surplus of cream of mushroom, celery, onion, and chicken soups. I mainly use them for dressing/stuffing and green bean casserole during the holidays. I’m not sure what happened last Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I did have a lot of family visiting and multiple people picking up groceries so things must have gotten out of hand with the soup.

Occasionally, I use them as a gravy additive or in a stew, but to be honest I don’t have any standard recipes that require them except for the holiday things. Anyone have any recipes that can help me use what appears to be 3 years worth of soup at the current rate I’m using it? Many thanks!

Question #4:

Does anyone now of a sweet potato recipe that does NOT have added sugars?

Question #5:

I am looking for a couple of recipes from the Abs Diet for Women.?

Hi! A couple years ago I subscribed to the online version of the Abs Diet for Women. There was a really yummy breakfast recipe made with low fat vanilla yogurt, mini wheats cereal, dried cranberries and almonds. I would love to know the exact measurements for each of the ingredients. I have the book and the cookbook, and neither one of them lists this recipe. There was a recipe for a breakfast bread--I would love to have that also. And there was a dinner recipe called Aztec Casserole with hamburger, garlic, etc.that was delicious. If anyone has these recipes, I would greatly appreciate them. Thank you!

Question #6:

Philadelphia onion and chive Baked Mashed Potatoes?

A few years back I made some baked mashed potatoes from a recipe I found in a People magazine add. I kind of remember what went into it but not the exact measurements. It was featured next to a Apple Pecan Cheesecake recipe. They are mashed potatoes that once mashed and mixed together you bake in a 9X13 casserole dish (Not to be confused with Twice Baked Mashed Potatoes). OK so the things I remember being in it are: Half and Half, butter, Philadelphia Onion and Chive Cream Cheese, and the whole thing you top with Almonds and baked in the oven. I have scoured all over the internet even Philly's website and have come up with nothing :( Anyone have this recipe?

Question #8:

i'm creating a cookbook, but don't know how to organize the categories, can you help?

it's mostly for healthier dinners and for kids/teenagers to use in the house. there won't be drinks or appetizers, and i can't think of any ways to organize the recipes besides "casseroles/pasta" and "soup/salad". i'm using a binder with dividers to make it easier and not having to flip through 200 recipes. any ideas? the food is mostly dinner meals like casseroles, crock pot, stir fry, and sandwich things.

I'm making a casserole tonight (my first time). It will be a chicken casserole. I need something for the crust. What is an easy recipe for crust? I thought about bread crumbs but I am looking for more of a crust you'd get with a pot pie. I also read about a crust made with mayo, flour and a couple other ingredients. Does anyone have any good casserole recipes to share?

My mom has been wanting me to cook dinner lately. I want to try something where I can just put it all in one pan lol. Any that are really good and not to hard to prepare?

Question #17:

In a slump for meal ideas... Suggestions needed for family.?

Just in a little slump.. Not really in the mood to look up and experiment new recipes... would rather have family tested approved meals..

We have hamburgers, beef stew/roast, baked chicken, ham, pancakes, pizza, Barbeque pork sandwiches, spaghetti with Italian Sauvage. I'm not sure if the kids are into casserole type but they did like Hamburger Helper the one time I made it. I guess I could try a home cooked version of that... I tried tacos one night and of course all the groaning, I just haven't tried that again.

Maybe a home cooked macaroni and cheese (sometimes on the weekends I make the box but I could try making my own). Just looking for other simple and nutritious options that other people try.. Thank-you!
See here it is dinner time and I can't think of anything to make----ahhhh I should try soup and bread.. Wish they would eat Chili.

Question #18:

Question #19:

How to convince my mom to let me be in charge of the food at my baby shower, i'm vegan?

my mom is planning my baby shower, and i really want there to be all vegan food, not nessisarly anything super fancy or complicated, basically everything that normally everyone eats just without meat and cheese. Some appetizers like sandwiches and fruit salad, casseroles, pasta salads....i don't really know what kind of theme it is, or what types of food will be served, but those are examples of what i COULD make if my mom came around and we planned that part together. I haven't even brought it up to her, but after her response when i offered to make a vegan dinner once a month or even once a week, i pretty much figure she won't be up for it...on the up side, i still have my dads side of the family, my dads sister would be cool with it, but it would still mean alot to me if i could show off my cooking skills and really show my family (especially my mom) that it's alot better tasting and filling than they assume and hopefully bring me closer to them once they understand it's not that limited, and they could possibly want the recipe...So yea, how to tell my mom that i want to be in charge of food for my baby shower
i'm 19 and live with my bf
Wally:
how am i enforcing that on them, it's one frickin meal, it's not the end of the world, it's a chance to try new YUMMY foods. I don't expect them to go vegan, i just want to share my food with them for ONE special occasion. There's no need to be so narrow minded and stubborn
Really? Cuz i'm pretty sure that they'd be just like you, find out it's vegan and won't even try it. Do you know how many times people have tried vegan food and didn't know it was vegan and said it was delicious and then found out what it was and were shocked? It's called psyching yourself out, you hear it's vegan so you tell yourself it can't possibly taste good, so you avoid it without even trying it OR you try it but since you told yourself it won't taste good, you're brain tricks your tastes buds to taste something bad. Thanks but no thanks, and i'm not a bridezilla, people like you just piss me off cuz they have all these beliefs and walls that block off new experiences, so you stay in your little comfort zone. Dont judge me by my age, i know what i'm talking about, it's been scientifically proven. And since they're omnivores, they'll eat anything, plus there's no food allergies that i need to specify since none will be in the food

Question #20:

Making a challenge here for a good chicken tenderloin recipe...is there such a thing?

I'm stuck in this weekend with no wheels. Have chicken tenderloins, bread crumbs, stuffing mix, cream of chicken soup...maybe a few other things (potatoes, peppers, onions, etc.) Maybe a casserole of some sort? Chicken tenderloins always come out so dry for me...
