Answer #1:

Check out Gordon Ramsay's Shephards Pie recipe. It's to die for, and it's not that complicated, but everyone will think you're brilliant.

I love Come Dine With Me - does the winner get a grand? haha

Answer #2:

Once I had a party. It was an open invitation to about ten people so I had steaks, salad doings, some different pastries and a heap of booze! Well, about forty people turned up and OH MY GOD!
So, I put on some music, introduced as many of these people as I knew to each other, secretly had a fit, and then decided., Bugger! The steaks got cut up into little cubes, with a glass of whatever they wanted, I chatted some of these people into making Kebabs,NUMBER 1: steak cube, slice of mushroom, chunk of onion, cherry tomato, capsicum, whatever they liked! That was about seven people chatting and doing something!Cool! That was the main course! I had planned a soup as a starter! Ok so I had to get out my preserving pan and guess what? Two of the men who turned up, out of the blue, said they knew exactly what soup I was going to cook! And, with my Ö GOD! PLEASE HELP ME" I said OK! {You have to hunch up and try not to look like you're praying when you do this!} So I got out the real veges,( I was only going to use those packets of soup, you know, only take two minutes!} NUMBER 2 carrots, celery, parsnips,an apple,a sweet potato, { hey! I'm making do now!} and a garlic! I thought"oh my god! Disaster! " Never mind! Gave the guys a bottle of beer each and let them loose! Sweet! Where's the thyme and sage? OOOOOOOOOOh! Wheres the nutmeg? Double OOOOOOOOOOOOOOh! Nevermind, I still have a whole bunch of other people to entertain while I'm trying to figure out how the heck am I going to stretch an Apple Shortcake made for twelve,
if you cut it abit smaller and added lots of custard and made it look pretty with some scraped chocolate over it! I had also got very adventurous and made a wee profriterole? Don't know how to spell it but it is a whole bunch of golfball sized choux pastry balls, mounded up into a volcano looking pile on your most fancy looking plate and then you can make a toffee sauce, just keep it warm until everyone is ready for it!
Well, here is how you turn a desert meant for ten into so much that you have leftovers.
You keep plyiing them with booze! It's so good! Instead of being in the kitchen, you light up the barbecue and tell everyone to help themselves! And the funny thing is, they're enjoying it
SALADS; yes, while everyone is getting to know each other, you make potato salad. Only takes about twentyfive minutes. NUMBER 3 Get two of your guests to peel 1 potato for each person present, wash the spuds then dice into half inch squares. Steam the potatoes if you have a vege steamer, That should take about 20 minutes. Tip the water out of the bottom pot and let the cubes "dry out"
Now you bung the potatoes into a bowl, whack in a couple of tablespoons of your favourite mayo , a quick stir, taste and tada! Well thats the potato side.
Desert?
Yep! That actually got changed into something I will tell you about, but kid! By then, people were starting to not care what they ate!So NUMBER 4you have a dish of apple shortcake. you have your wee mountain of profriteroles. You have custard and you have not yet scraped the chocolate!
So, I just did this, I doused the wee mountain with toffee sauce, I put the custard in a large, wide bowl, scraped chocolate all over it, I cut the appleshortcake into slices and bunged them all on the table and that was that! And everyone just had what they wanted
Ok, so I didn't mean to write you a book, but it was fun!
Cheers kid
