Question #7:
Ideas for appetizers for a Mexican Themed Backyard gathering. Please read details.?
The meal is catered and consists of a Taco bar - there is chopped beef, and chicken and the cheese, salsa, tomatoes and rice and beans. And upwards of 75 people stand in line to make a plate. Before that line forms, there is mingling and drinks.chips and salsa - OK but sort of not exciting. The hostess has asked me to come up with some ideas for finger food that will be pleasing to folks of all ages. I'll have three or four people who will help, but I need some ideas that are easy to prepare, don't have to be heated and can either be passed around or set down on the tables that are scattered about the yard. Usually the kids are playing in a bounce house, but the adults like to nibble.
What I'll do is pass around the "recipes" to the others who will help, so each person will be working in their own kitchen. I thought of filling little souffle cups with a crab dip, so that's one idea - but I wonder if there is something that will compliment yet not compete with the meal.
Question #8:
I had an idea of a cookoff party but i dont know how i would make it work exactly.?
so my birthday is in 2 days and i was thinking of having a cook off party. my friends and i always arguee about who cooks better so i thought it would be a fun way to settle who the best cookers are.so my idea was that i would have 2 teams of boys an girls mixed-
then i would pick names out of a hat and if the teams aren't exactly fair i would re-arrange them so they are.
-- then my idea was that everyone would come over to my house, we would split into the two teams, then i woudl have 3 different courses- first couse appetizer type of thing, a main couse and desert. then i decided that would be a lot of food in the end...so i deceided each team could pick 2 courses that they wanted to do. i would hav all 3 couses and i would have 3 diffrent parts for each course with diffrent ingredients so that each team could pick what 2 courses and what ingredients they want.
then each team could use a computer and cookbooks to find a recipe or they could make up their own and we'd all cook and have my parents and sister be the judges to decide whats best!
i wanted some other ideas though because my mom and i werent sure if this would work.

Question #17:
I need help picking out a recipe for an International Finger Food party. Suggestions please?
I will be cooking at my University in a few weeks for a fundraiser and need some help! I am a decent home cook but I am far from being a Chef. I have many appetizers I like to make but none of them give off an international feel. So here's what I need: the food needs to be bite sized. It needs to be linked to a specific country. The biggest deciding factor is, I need to make about 200 of them! I will have an entire restaurant kitchen to use and the supplies are donated from the local supermarket. I love to make elegant eye catching dishes but with a quantity this high, im thinking I will have to go the simpler route. Thanks for all help! PS- Meatballs are already taken.Question #18:

Other appetizers include prosciutto wrapped asparagus, and an antipasto platter.Needs to be something that people can eat while standing during a cocktail hour. Plates are available, but I don't want people to worry about forks.
